Silk Bonnets for White Girl Hair - Which One Is Right for You?

Silk Bonnets for White Girl Hair - Which One Is Right for You?

Okay real talk. The bonnet world was not built with white girl hair in mind. If you've ever spent the whole night with a bonnet slipping off, or woken up with your hair weirdly compressed and kinked in all the wrong places — that's not a you problem. That's a design problem. Bonnets were originally designed for Afro textured and curly hair and they work brilliantly for that. But fine, straight and wavy hair has completely different needs overnight and for a long time there just wasn't anything made for it.

That's what MULSKA set out to fix. Three different bonnets. All 100% Grade 6A mulberry silk. All designed around how different hair types actually behave while you sleep. Fine, straight, wavy, long — or just generally the kind that never quite fit a standard bonnet. Here's your guide.

The Original — 19 Momme Mulberry Silk Bonnet

Okay so if your hair is like, medium length and not massively thick this is probably your starting point. It's not too big, it actually stays on (which if you've tried other bonnets you'll know is like, the bare minimum that most of them fail at) and you wake up and your hair is genuinely just... fine. Not a mess. Not flat. Just normal, which after years of cotton pillowcases honestly feels like a miracle. The silk is real, like burn-test real, and it shows in how your hair feels in the morning. Less dry, less frizzy, less of that weird brittle feeling at the ends. It's the one to start with if you're new to bonnets and not sure which way to go.

The Large — 22 Momme Mulberry Silk Bonnet

This one is for when you have a lot of hair. Like a lot a lot. Fine strands but loads of them, or longer hair that just takes up space. Standard bonnets always felt weirdly tight and kind of suffocating for your hair right? This is 40% bigger than a standard bonnet which sounds like a lot but honestly you'll immediately get why when you put it on. Everything fits. No compressing, no flattening, no waking up with a weird dent situation. The silk is 22 momme which is heavier than most. It feels more substantial, more luxurious, and it genuinely lasts. If you've got the kind of hair that's always been too much for regular bonnets this is the one.

The Long — 22 Momme Mulberry Silk Bonnet

Okay this one was literally made for white girl hair and I don't say that lightly. Most bonnets bundle everything into a little nest on top of your head. Fine if you have tight curls. For straight or wavy hair it just creates tangles, weird crimps and you wake up looking worse than when you went to bed. The long bonnet lets your hair just... hang. Down your back, however it naturally falls. You put it on, go to sleep, wake up, take it off and your hair is already there. Smooth, settled, no frizz, no weird bends. It's genuinely the first bonnet that makes sense for this hair type. Once you've tried it you will not go back.

Why silk specifically for white girl hair

Fine hair is actually more vulnerable overnight than most people realise. Individual strands are thinner. That means friction from a cotton pillowcase or synthetic bonnet causes more damage per strand. Real mulberry silk creates almost zero friction. Your hair moves with the fabric instead of catching against it. It also doesn't absorb moisture like cotton does. Your natural oils and overnight treatments stay in your hair where they belong.

The key word is real. Most bonnets sold as silk are polyester, which is plastic. It doesn't breathe, traps heat and creates exactly the friction you're trying to avoid. Every MULSKA bonnet comes with a burn strip so you can verify the silk yourself the moment it arrives. Real silk burns to ash. Polyester melts. You'll know immediately.

Whatever your hair type, there's a bonnet designed for it.
